ShulMaker: Synagogue websites
ShulMaker builds synagogue websites whose time-sensitive content maintains itself. Candle-lighting, havdalah and the parsha recompute every week from the shul’s location, alongside a Hebrew calendar, yahrzeits, RSVPs and donations. It is a Cuanto Labs product.
What ShulMaker is
ShulMaker is a website service for synagogues. Its premise is that a shul site goes stale on Fridays: the times change weekly, the parsha changes weekly, and nobody remembers to update either.
ShulMaker therefore assigns those items to the platform. Candle-lighting and havdalah, parsha and holidays, the Hebrew and English calendar and yahrzeit reminders are kept current by the system; events and RSVPs are kept by the shul.
Who uses it
Its users are rabbis, gabbaim and synagogue offices. Young Israel of Sunny Isles Beach is named on the site as a live customer, and sample sites show a Modern Orthodox shul, a Chabad house and a Sephardic community in Hebrew and English.
How it works
Times are calculated from the shul’s exact coordinates, with candle lighting set 18 minutes before sunset. Admins can edit from a computer, from the ShulMaker iOS app, or by texting ShulMaker on WhatsApp: a preview comes back, the admin replies YES, and the change publishes.
Donations run through Zeffy, a partner with 0% card fees. Members can use the Zmanim app, and an AI assistant can manage the site from Claude or ChatGPT. An existing site can be migrated with its domain unchanged.
