Israeli Founders

Methodology

How Israeli Founders finds companies, founders and investors, what it records about them, and where the data can be wrong.

What is included

A company appears here once a public report names it as an Israeli-founded startup that raised money, was acquired or went public. Its founders and investors appear when that report, or a later one, names them.

Israeli-founded means the company was started in Israel or by Israeli founders, as the source describes it. Coverage starts with rounds announced in 2026.

Sources

Every fact comes from a public news report, press release or filing. The daily run reads the business feeds of Globes, CTech by Calcalist, The Jerusalem Post, Israel Hayom and The Times of Israel, the GlobeNewswire and PR Newswire wires, and SEC Form D filings by Israel-based issuers. Google News search finds reports from other publishers; the note on each fact always names and links the original publisher, never the search.

Each fact on a page carries a numbered note naming the publisher and date, and links to the original article. Links to sources are marked nofollow; they are citations, not endorsements.

How a round is recorded

  1. Headlines are screened for funding language: raises, Series A, led by, seed, an amount.
  2. The article text is fetched and read by a language model that returns structured fields.
  3. The model records only facts stated in the text and scores its confidence from 0 to 1. Entries scoring below 0.6, entries where the company is not Israeli-founded, and entries with an unusable date are dropped.
  4. Names are normalized: legal suffixes such as Ltd or Inc are removed and known investor aliases are merged, so Sequoia Capital and Sequoia are one investor.
  5. Reports of the same round from different publishers are merged into one round with several sources.

Fields

Date
The announcement date the report gives, or the report's publish date when it gives none.
Amount
In whole US dollars, converted from other currencies when needed. Empty when undisclosed.
Stage
Pre-seed, Seed, Series A, B, C or D+, Growth, Debt, Grant, IPO or Acquisition, as the report names it. Undisclosed stage when it does not.
Investors
Leads are the investors the report says led the round. Everyone else named is a participant.

Known limits

  • Rounds never reported in English, or only reported in sources outside the list above, are missing.
  • Machine extraction can misread a figure or a name. Every fact links to its source so you can check it.
  • Totals count disclosed amounts only, so they understate the real amount raised.

Questions and answers

Where does the data come from?

Only from public sources: English-language Israeli business press and press-release wires. No private databases, paid feeds or company-submitted forms are used.

How often is it updated?

Sources are checked once a day, overnight New York time. New rounds and corrections appear after that run.

Are amounts converted to US dollars?

Yes. Amounts are stored in whole US dollars. An amount reported in shekels, euros or pounds is converted at the rate the report states, otherwise at an approximate rate for the publication date. When a source does not disclose the amount, the field stays empty instead of being estimated.

How do I report an error?

Email corrections@cuantolabs.com with the page address, what is wrong and a public source for the right figure.
